Hundreds of employees from Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. rolled up their sleeves Saturday, Oct. 2, to spruce up schools, youth centers and other inner-city public areas as part of the company's annual G.I.V.E. Day activities.

Now in its seventh consecutive year, G.I.V.E. ("Get Involved Volunteer Everywhere") Day is a community service event that brings out Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises employees, their families and friends to help nonprofit organizations improve the quality of life in their communities. Royal Caribbean's G.I.V.E. Day has become the largest corporate volunteer day organized by a Florida company.

"Volunteering is one way Floridians enrich the lives of others, as well as themselves," said Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. "I applaud Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises for setting a fine example of corporate leadership in volunteerism through the many volunteer hours given by their employees."
